Access Insurance announce 4 year Sponsorship deal as part of Social Enterprise ethics

Access Insurance is involved in sponsoring Selsdon Little Leagues football and netball teams. We do this, not because we believe that there will be any return, but because we are developing as a social enterprise and believe that this is a major valuable local resource run by very enthusiastic volunteers. We do not have any children playing in the leagues. We believe that additional investment in replacing equipment and continuing to fund this project is very important.

The article follwed research by YouGov which showed that Comprehensive travel insurance has recently seen its profile in the public consciousness increase dramatically, due largely to the unprecedented volcanic disruption to airlines and kept in the public eye by industrial action.

Holiday Theft

An article in The Press and Journal reported on some research by Sainsbury’s Finance showing the enourmous cost to British holidaymakers from theft.

The estimate is that in the last 5 years up to £1.7billion worth of personal possessions was stolen from them whist abroad. Further research showed that about 5.1million adults said they had been the victim of theft while on holiday abroad in this period, with the estimated average value of lost possessions £326.

easyjet brand licence

easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, today announces it has resolved its litigation with easyGroup IP over the terms of the ‘easyJet’ brand licence.

A revised brand licence agreement ends the long-standing uncertainty arising from the on-going dispute and confirms easyJet’s right to generate revenues from ancillary activities.

The amended and re-stated licence agreement continues easyJet’s worldwide rights to the use of its brand on a basis which protects easyJet’s current commercial activities and provides clarity and certainty over the terms of the licence. Operational flexibility is considerably improved and easyJet will have the freedom to enter new co-branding agreements with other travel service providers as well as white label partners such as car hire, hotels and travel insurance companies. In addition, easyJet will have the right to enter co-branding promotions with other leading brands. Upon obtaining shareholder approval for the revised brand licence, Sir Stelios has agreed to give up the right to appoint himself as easyJet Chairman and end easyGroup’s rights of representation on the Board of easyJet.

The rights will continue for a fifty year term, with a minimum commitment of ten years in return for an annual royalty payment of 0.25% of easyJet’s revenues. The payment is fixed at £3.9 million and £4.95 million for the first two years of the agreement.

PFD Financial Services

Access Underwriting have announced a tie up with PFD Financial Services to expand the offerings they provide to the charity sector.
